Genetic Testing

dna

We would like to make you aware of our new genetic testing service, which can assist both pharmacists and doctors in identifying the right medication at the right dose for you.

This new innovative test is called myDNA.

Your unique genetic profile determines how you process certain medications.

That is why individuals vary in how they respond to the same medications and dose.

Some people get minimal benefits whilst others may experience side-effects.

The myDNA tests covers more than 1/3 of the most commonly prescribed medications and the results have a lifelong relevance;

so if you are taking any of the following medications, this test may be of benefit to you, including;

      Antidepressants             Pain medications             Blood thinners            Reflux medications

The test is a quick, painless cheek swab that your pharmacist can guide you through

and it can be done in pharmacy or in the comfort of your own home.

Once myDNA have analysed and interpreted your results, a personalised report will be sent to our pharmacist as well as your nominated doctor.

The report will contain information on how some of your genes function.

It will also provide actionable advice on current and future medications.

Once your results are available we will arrange a private consultation with you to deliver your results. If required, accordingly with the findings of your personal report, recommendations or changes to your medications will be pointed out by us and/or your nominated doctor.

During your consultation, you will be provided with access to myDNA Exlpore.

myDNA Explore is your personal secure web portal which allows you to view your report and learn more about how your results can affect the way your body responds to certain medications.
